Real Resolutions: Recap
On January 11th we hosted Real Resolutions, a goal-setting workshop for creatives with a certified life coach, Sami Main at New Women Space in Brooklyn NYC. Sami has been a friend of TLL founder, Kim Hoyos for awhile now through mutual connections in media and made a natural fit for a TLL collaborator! Real Resolutions was an intimate workshop designed to help you hone in on your goals by first aligning on what you value. Huge key here- before you even get to the “I want to do THIS COOL THING ONE DAY” ask yourself “What do I care about? What do I find important in my life?”. Sami guided our attendees through these guiding questions in our session with compassion, positivity, and realistic measures of growth.
It was awesome! From visualization exercises to mini journaling prompts, all attendees were free to explore their thoughts, feelings, and perspective free of comparison, guilt, or pressure. The attendees were then guided through the meaning and magic behind vision boards with our founder, Kim Hoyos. Kim described the impact vision boards had on her own outlook in life and the way that it can serve as a visual accountability tool as you work towards your vision aligned goals.
Our attendees were then given the space, time and supplies to create their very own vision boards. With some 2000s girl pop music playing, our community got their hands sticky with glue sticks (ah elementary school nostalgia) as they found images, quotes, and colors to match their newly aligned goals.
Real Resolutions was our first event of 2020 and our 8th event since launching in Feb 2017!
