3 Year Anniversary!

The Light Leaks was founded on February 5th, 2017. We are officially 3 years old today! :’)

A lot has changed in 3 years, and a lot absolutely hasn't. I was a junior at Rutgers University when launched the Light Leaks out of my dorm room, unknown that it would completely take over (and utterly change) my life. Throughout the past 3 years, TLL has grown, shifted, changed sites, hosted events, connected filmmakers / creators, been recognized by press outlets, had incredible interns, become an LLC and so much more. I'm now 24 and a "fulltime adult™" with a FT job who runs this organization alone off her phone (and childhood bedroom in NJ) and every day I am thankful for the Light Leaks.

It is everything to me, and I mean that. I can't put into words what it feels to host a community dedicated to serving the creativity of others and changing representation in the industry. It's a beautiful feeling and one that pushes me out of my comfort zone and into the light (had to) of how I feel like I need to use my voice and skills.
