Cheers to Us! Recap

We started off 2024 with a blast to celebrate ourselves as women and nonbinary creatives! Cheers to Us! was a bicoastal celebration that took place January 17 (Brooklyn) and January 25th (Hollywood) 2024 to bring our community together with joy and new years energy. Each $5 ticket included access to a digital database connecting all attendees from from LA to NYC, our brand new downloadable guide for self-growth and profesh development and a night of pure celebration!

We saw our community come out in full force! The vibes were incredible as we met at Starr Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY despite the freezing temperatures outside. We had an amazing time mingling, plotting our creative takeovers, and kick off the new year with a bang with y’all. This event was truly so fun — we couldn’t believe we were lucky enough to do the same thing a week later in Los Angeles.

At our West Coast Cheers to Us! meet up, our creative community came out in full force to Honey’s at Star Love as the disco balls spun. DJ Les Ortiz spun the beats, keeping the energy high as attendees mingled, danced, and toasted to the incredible magic of intersectional storytelling.

From the West Coast to the East Coast, the love and support were palpable as women and nonbinary creatives came together to uplift and empower each other. The energy in the room was simply electric, and it was all thanks to the amazing individuals who showed up and made the events a success.

Cheers to Us! was planned as an opportunity to create meaningful connections as well as simply take a break as creative individuals who often self sacrifice. Networking often feels unobtainable to women and nonbinary individuals. And by hosting spaces and activities that allow our community to come together over mutual commonalities and then explore true bonds.

With your support, we're able to continue our mission of promoting intersectional storytelling and providing spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and celebrated.

From all of us at The Light Leaks, thank you for showing up, bringing your fabulous selves, and making Cheers to Us! nights to remember. Here's to many more celebrations, connections, and moments of pure joy!
